Senior Commissioning Editor/Editorial Director

We are an award-winning independent publisher looking for an experienced commissioning editor to join the team, primarily acquiring serious non-fiction.

We’re looking for someone smart and creative who will enjoy the freedom and entrepreneurial spirit of independent publishing. You’ll have lots of ideas for books that drive conversations, authors who are stars in the making and thought-provoking, compelling subjects from science to politics, and the experience to know how to pursue them from pitching and proposal through to publication. Great author care, agent contacts and knowledge of the non-fiction market are essential too.

We pride ourselves on being an outstanding place to work and a supportive team, driven by a love of readers, writers and ideas.

This role is London-based. We are currently working to a hybrid home/office model. Competitive salary dependent on experience. Benefits include 25 days holiday (rising to 30 days with length of service) plus bank holidays, pension, life insurance, annual bonus scheme for all employees, working day 9.30am – 5.30pm Monday-Friday with flexible working agreements by arrangement.

Profile strives to be an equal opportunities employer.  Please let us know of any reasonable adjustments you may require when attending an interview.
