Publicity Assistant

We are looking for an enthusiastic and highly organised full-time publicity assistant to join our award-winning publicity team, working on Profile’s outstanding list that includes Mary Beard, Francis Fukuyama, Carmen Maria Machado, Nella Larson, Alan Bennett, and Janice Hallett. You will work closely with our publicists providing support across all our imprints – fiction and non-fiction titles.

This is a great entry level role for someone who has a genuine interest in book publicity, and learning about publicity campaigns from an experienced publicity team.

The role is primarily administrative, so superb organisational skills and attention to detail are essential, but there will be plenty of opportunities to be creative, including taking part in brainstorming meetings.

The successful candidate will have:

    • Superb organisational and time management skills
    • Excellent attention to detail
    • An interest in Profile’s lists, particular our crime fiction titles (Viper)
    • Ability to communicate ideas well with the team, and with authors and media as role will require individuals to do pitches face to face and produce written copy
    • Familiarity with Biblio and Roxhill software would be an advantage.

Salary is £29,000 per annum, depending on experience. We offer many other workplace benefits including a generous holiday allowance, annual bonus scheme, life assurance and pension scheme. This is a full-time role, with a minimum of 3 days working from our Farringdon based office.

Profile strives to be an equal opportunities employer and welcome and encourage applications from candidates who are under-represented in the creative industries.

As a Disability Confident Committed organisation, we offer interviews to candidates with a disability who notify us at application stage and meet the essential criteria for the role. There may be times when the volume of applications means we cannot take all eligible candidates to interview.

We also encourage you to tell us of any reasonable adjustments you may require when attending an interview.  We offer expenses for travel to London to interviews.

To apply, please email your CV by Tuesday 13 August 2024, together with a cover letter that addresses the following question, to careers@profilebooks.com:
