Project Editor
An educational publisher in London is looking for a Project Editor to join their publishing team and work on the editorial development of digital and print educational assessments and reports. This is an exciting new role suitable for someone with strong editorial skills and an interest or experience in the education sector.
Key duties:
- Responsible for the development of digital and print educational assessments and reports from handover of final manuscript to print
- Take ownership of editorial processing and quality control, ensuring work is delivered to schedule and budget
- Contract and brief external suppliers, manage their services, deal with queries and ensure quality at all time
- Commission artwork
- Manage all proof stages, pre-flighting and handing over files to print procurement
- Work closely with the Publisher and liaise with other teams, offering editorial services as required
Experience / skills required:
- Solid experience in an editorial or production editorial role in publishing
- Experience in educational publishing or teaching experience and an interest in education
- Demonstrable copyediting and proofreading skills and a keen eye for detail
- Knowledge of budget and schedule management
- Excellent organisation, multitasking and time management skills
- Strong communication skills and ability to communicate at all levels
