A new and creative role of Project Editor has opened up with a highly respected independent trade publisher of illustrated non-fiction titles. This role will focus on managing their diverse lists which cover a range of interests and formats. The role will operate on a hybrid working basis.
The role will be reporting to the Editorial Director and will be based within the editorial department. The role's remit will also include:
- taking titles from manuscript stage to being print-ready
- working across multiple departments
- liaising with colleagues and external agents such as designers and proofreaders
- collating and preparing materials for the sales and jacket copy
They are looking for someone who is highly organised and has some experience in editorial project management or project editing with an eye for imagery and text. Experience in non-fiction or highly illustrated publishing would be a bonus. You will have great copy-editing and proof-reading skills. You will ideally have excellent digital skills and a working knowledge of InDesign, metadata management, CSS/HTML and Acrobat. You will be able to manage multiple projects at the same time and prioritise your time well.
