Project Editor - Academic Publishing

We are recruiting a Project Editor to work for the publishing arm of a highly respected, global Membership organisation. Reporting to the Commissioning Editor, this role will be ensure that all content for the organisation is published on time and to budget.

This is a key position in the team and the responsibilities will involve:

  • Managing the manuscript review process
  • Managing copyediting, proofreading process
  • Requesting permissions for both text and illustrative material
  • Briefing illustrations and ensuring technical specifications are met
  • Inputting content into the Learning Management Content system
  • Project management: scoping, assessing and presenting back to the organisation as appropriate
  • Deputise for Commissioning Editor

The successful person will be educated to degree level and will have proven, relevant experience in proofreading and copy editing and some editorial experience. You will have meticulous attention to detail, able to work productively and on your own initiative as well as the ability to engage with high profile content partners and other stakeholders. You should also have some experience with developing content via a Learning Management System; strong IT skills and experience with MS Office.  This role would suit an Assistant/Associate/Development Editor looking for a progressive career move.
