Project Editor (Fiction)

We have a fantastic new opportunity with a highly respected, London based publisher of fine bound books. Our client, an award-winning publisher of beautifully crafted books, is looking for a talented and passionate Project Editor to oversee their Fiction list.

Reporting into the Publishing Director, this role will be responsible for managing a wide range of Fiction titles, ranging from science fiction to classical poetry, taking titles from manuscript to publication.

Key responsibilities of the role:

  • Overseeing the publication of a wide range of Fiction titles from handover of manuscript through to publication, ensuring quality standards and deadlines are met
  • Briefing art directors, and helping with the overall visual design of the books
  • Liaising with internal Design, Sales and Marketing teams, as well as external collaborators, to ensure publication is running smoothly
  • Overseeing the editorial workflow of multiple titles in your list

The ideal candidate will have a good eye for design, and strong editorial and project management skills. This role will suit someone with a visual literacy, the ability to prioritise and work on multiple titles, and a passion for beautiful books.
