Project Leader - Academic journals

We are working on a brand new fully remote role in the journals team of a publishing services company. Their busy editorial team is looking to appoint a Project Leader to oversee a range of journal accounts and take care of hands-on project management from submission of manuscript to final files.

The role will work on the delivery of a series of high-quality projects (both print and digital) for a number of journal publishing clients, and will include putting together a team of copy-editors and other collaborators to deliver on agreed budgets and schedules.

You will be taking a leading role in the team, training more junior staff and monitoring performance to be able to report back to the Director. In this role, you will also manage journal accounts, updating customers on progress and attending client meetings to build strong professional relationships.

The ideal candidate will have a good grounding in journals operations and editorial, preferably form an STM publisher though they are open to other disciplines too. They will enjoy motivating others and becoming a guiding figure for a busy and successful team.
