Publicist

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced and ambitious individual to join the publicity team at a leading London based trade publisher. Our client is looking for a Publicist to work in-house with their high-profile authors on well-respected imprints, principally in the areas of popular culture, science fiction and entertainment.

You will be experienced in putting together highly visible publicity campaigns and in maximising author visits to the best effect. You will also be required to work closely and collaboratively with the existing publicity team as well as with colleagues in all the relevant departments. Your main responsibilities will be to oversee all press outreach in the UK and US; to manage author expectations and communicate throughout the release season; and to conceive, secure, and manage author and talent events in major cities.

You will have a great list of contacts and will display the ability to influence others and to ensure the books receive the best possible coverage in the media. The ideal candidate will have strong copywriting skills and be a confident communicator who is ready to work with third party agents in a diplomatic and professional manner. You will be an organised and motivated team player who is happy to supervise an assistant and work both internally and externally, building successful working relationships.
