Publisher (ELT)

A very exciting opportunity of "Publisher" has arisen to join a world leader in ELT Publishing, this new role sits within the Oxford office and allows for some flexible working, as well as offering a competitive salary and excellent benefits package.

This new role will offer the ELT Publisher the chance to work across global markets, managing a high profile publishing programme of English Language Teaching materials covering various levels, ensuring products are aligned with customer requirements and effectively support the teaching and learning of English worldwide. The main remit of the role will be to: identify and evaluate opportunities in key markets/regions and develop product proposals aligned to the global publishing and growth plans; oversee the planning of all projects from concept to delivery; identify and commission, or supervise the commissioning of, writers to develop content in order to realize the publishing plan; ensure that relations with writers, experts in the field and potential customers are fostered and developed; work collaboratively to develop and manage joined-up market research plans; ensure that schedules are set and maintained, and risks identified and managed; and plan and manage budgets and people resource.

The ideal Publisher for ELT will have a proven background managing multi-component publishing programmes (both digital and print) in educational publishing, including experience of commissioning authors and negotiating contracts. You will be a natural leader of cross-functional teams, with strong people, budget and resource management skills, adept at training and developing others. With a passion for ELT Publishing and a customer-centred, solutions-focused approach, and a track record of commissioning and managing successful publishing programmes, the ideal Publisher will also have an understanding of structured content, metadata and tagging (this would be beneficial but is not essential).
