Publisher | Trade | Oxfordshire. An established Trade publisher, with offices in Oxfordshire, is looking to appoint a Publisher to take responsibility for the leadership and direction of their creative publishing and commissioning of their new books and other media. You will lead the profitable development of the company’s imprints, across the full range of chidren’s books, fiction and non-fiction publishing to fulfil the company’s mission. As the primary contact for authors, you will manage the commissioning team and will collaborate closely with senior colleagues on accepted book publishing projects.

The company publishes accessible titles within the adult and children’s sector, which reflect a Christian worldview to a general audience in addition to resources for Christian families and communities.

Reporting to the Managing Director, the Publisher will ensure that all new products are in accordance with the company’s mission and objectives and will represent commissioning at management and publishing meetings.

Your role will champion the efforts of the commissioning team within the company and you will lead on author care implementation and strongly influence this within other departments.

You will have excellent communication, influencing and leadership skills and will have the experience necessary to make independent decisions.

This is a leadership role for which you will have demonstrable experience in successfully leading teams, influencing colleagues and substantial experience of commissioning with a strong network in Christian author circles.

Theologically aware, you will further be biblically literate and spiritually sensitive.

Due to the nature of the publications involved, this role has a Genuine Occupational Requirement to be a practising Christian.
