Publishing Assistant

Our client is a specialist membership organisation who also publish scientific data, guidance and information for psychotherapists, psychologists and other mental health workers.

They have an amazing and unique opportunity within the publishing team. Due to some recent growth they are now looking to hire a Publishing Assistant to join them. Our client is really keen to welcome and encourage applications from candidates who are under-represented.

They are looking for someone who is ambitious, driven and is excited about carving out a role for themselves as this is a brand new role. We are looking for an individual with some experience in publishing. This is a really broad role where you will be supporting all departments including editorial, production and marketing. You will report into the Publishing Director and support you colleagues in marketing, editorial, and production. This wide-ranging role will provide you with a unique opportunity to become involved in the full spectrum of publishing functions across the business.

Our client in particular is really interested in someone with strong marketing skills and experience including social media management and SEO. As the business is an SME (small business) we are also looking for someone who is happy to get stuck into whatever the business needs from them so you should be able to show fantastic adaptability and flexibility in approach.

You will need to demonstrate the following skills:

  • Ability to organise own tasks and good administration skills
  • Good time management skills: ability to identify and manage priorities, work on a number of tasks at the same time and meet tight deadlines
  • Ability to work on own initiative as well as working in a team orientated, collaborative environment
  • Very good verbal and written communication skills with the ability to write succinctly and recognise and correct errors
  • Attention to detail in all areas
  • An approachable team member, you will have good interpersonal skills, working well with a wide variety of levels and teams across the organisation
  • Positive attitude, pro-active thinker and solutions provider
  • Proactive approach to skills and knowledge acquisition and remaining up to date with current best practice in the field.
  • A commitment to the principles and implementation of equality, diversity and inclusion in every aspect of the role.

The closing date for this role is: Monday 15th March Interviews will take place during week commencing 22nd March.

The company offers a strong starting salary of £25,000 a year!
