Publishing Assistant

We are working with a specialist membership organisation who create educational content, events and scientific data that help the work of psychotherapists, psychologists and other mental health workers.

They have an amazing and unique opportunity within their publishing team as they are now looking to hire a Publishing Assistant to join them.

This is a really broad role where you will be supporting all departments including editorial, production and marketing. Reporting into the Publishing Director, your role will be wide-ranging and will provide you with a unique opportunity to become involved in the full publishing spectrum across the business.

The main responsibilities of the Publishing Assistant will be:

  • Providing support with the peer review process, sending materials out for review and collating reports
  • Assisting with manuscript revision and development feedback
  • Liaising with the editorial team on issues pertaining artwork, permissions and referencing]
  • Preparing draft contracts
  • Communicating with the authors to ensure timely delivery of content and assisting with author queries
  • Taking meetings during editorial meetings
  • Writing copies fro promotional content and social media
  • Updating internal records of copyright permissions, contracts, and publications status
  • Carrying our proofreading tasks as required

They are looking for someone who is ambitious, driven and is excited about carving out a role for themselves and get immersed in the publishing industry. We are ideally looking for an individual with some experience in publishing, and an interest in mental health.
