Publishing Sales Manager –Education, Library (UK sales)

This is an exciting opportunity to work for this prestigious client in a role for candidates with education/library sales experience. To increase sales in educational and library channels as part of a company growth strategy in this particular area of the market. To be an experienced in the school and library market and to be responsible for all sales-related activity in these sectors. Developing short and long term strategies to maximise sales to School, Educational and Library markets. Attending seminars relating to these sectors. To represent the educational and library sector and your other key accounts in- house. Build and maintain understanding of the market both library/school and educational needs – collate data and use to inform publishing meetings. Proactively work with Marketing and Publicity to develop bespoke activity for these sectors including author activity/website marketing/author/ illustrator events. To visit Key Accounts customers (Education and Library) at head office on a regular basis to manage account and grow sales/ presenting and obtaining subscriptions to new titles and taking orders from backlist and initiating backlist promotions.

Achievement of sales targets

Ability to grow key account revenue

Develop excellent knowledge of Books frontlist and backlist

Full understanding of educational and library market

Proven track record of developing and implementing schools / educational strategies

Library knowledge preferable but not essential

Great communication skills

Commercially driven – actively seek and identify new sales opportunities
