Head of Special Sales & Special Sales Executive
Quarto Publishing Group is a leading global publisher of award winning illustrated non-fiction adult and childrens books, including the multi-million copy selling global children’s brand, Little People Big Dreams, and adult bestselling brands, such as Peaky Blinders, Nutella and the RHS.
We are now looking to recruit two highly motivated and sales driven professionals to join our dynamic, busy and successful UK sales team, within the special sales department. Both these roles offer a fantastic and rare opportunity to progress your careers within a highly driven and successful organisation, and will suit those who have a passion for both adult and children’s books. These roles have arisen due to significant growth opportunities and an internal restructure.
Head of Special Sales:
The successful candidate for this role will have a proven track record within special sales at managerial level, and be able to demonstrate outstanding account management and relationship building skills, as well as a strong understanding of retail and trends. A top communicator, with excellent organisation, written, presentation and numeracy skills, you will be a confident individual, used to dealing with high-profile customers, as well as having both strong stake-holder and people management skills to lead a small team. A key part of this role will be the ability to identify and build new business opportunities, and to deliver growth across our global publishing in the UK market.
Entrepreneurial flair, innovative team management skills, and determination to succeed, are all qualities we are looking for, whilst excellent IT skills are essential for this role.
Special Sales Executive:
This is an exciting and varied role, and will involve account management across a range of different retailers such as Urban Outfitters, Anthropologie and Museum Selection to name some. Market research and identifying new account opportunities in the non-trade retail market place, both physical and online, will also be key function of this position.
The ideal candidate will have some experience of sales, ideally within special markets, but not essential. Excellent communication, and presentation skills are a must, as well as the ability to work to deadlines, and to build successful and profitable relationships. The ability to demonstrate strong sales led initiatives, commercial awareness and attention to detail, are all qualities we are looking for, whilst a collaborative team spirit, and excellent IT skills are also essential for this role.
