Sales Executive

We have a super new and highly interesting sales role, working for a leading not-for-profit publishing organisation based in the Cambridgeshire area.  The organisation offers a hybrid working (ideally 2 days in the office), arrangement but they are currently working from home. This sales role will involve developing a detailed knowledge of the company’s products, pricing structure and licence options and may involve some occasional travel.

Some of the key responsibilities of the role include, but are not limited to:

  • Monitoring competitors and the market in general, recognising trends that might lead to an opportunity, and be familiar with developments in Read & Publish sales and librarian marketing.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with new and existing customers to ensure renewal of existing and growth of new business.
  • Promote and proactively sell Read & Publish agreements to customers worldwide, including consortia and universities
  • Work with the Commercial Sales Manager on customer proposals, including agreements and subscription sales
  • Follow up sales leads/enquiries to establish customer needs and present relevant products
  • Attend relevant exhibitions, conferences and consortia meetings.

This is a varied sales role, with lots of scope to develop and grow within the team.  The successful person will have proven B2B sales experience, ideally within scientific publishing, with great negotiating, analytical and communication skills. You should have the ability to handle complex sales challenges and possess the ability to develop and maintain key customer relationships. A flexible and proactive approach is essential as is strong IT skills, including experience of Excel, Word and CRM tools.
