Rights Manager
We have a fantastic opportunity with an independent children's books publisher in London - Our client is an award-winning publisher of picture books, activity books and fiction and non-fiction children's titles, and they are looking to hire a Rights Manager to cover a maternity cover up to 12 months.
The Rights Manager will be responsible for delivering rights sales for allocates territories worldwide, with particular focus on backlist titles.
Key responsibilities will be:
- Managing assigned territories with a view to maximise rights sales turnover and profit, creating a sales strategy to meet annual targets .
- Collaborating with the Senior Rights Manager and Sales Director to plan and implement company-wide strategy and targets
- Negotiating subsidiary rights where possible to maximise revenues and increase backlist rights sales
- Consolidating existing business partnerships provide regular reviews of business objectives and targets with key partners
- Researching and identify new prospective customers and deliver professional presentations to identify new opportunities in the rights marketplace
- Creating sales collateral including backlist presentations for the co-edition sales catalogues
This is a fantastic opportunity for a publishing Rights professional with a good understanding of subsidiary and co-edition rights. The ideal candidate will have a solid background in rights sales, and possibly previous experience working with highly illustrated books, and they will be very strategic and commercially aware.
