Sales Director (trade)

Our client, a leading London trade publishing house seeks an ambitious children’s trade sales director to manage their sales to the UK trade & non-trade. The publishing list includes commercial childrens non-fiction, fiction, picture books as well as licensed books.

This is a newly created role which would suit someone with a passion for selling children’s books and who is also very commercial in their approach, motivated by doing deals and achieving budget.

This is a newly created role, so you’ll initially have a very small team, but assume all sales management of UK children's book sales, and have the opportunity to build and develop your department and team as business grows.

Candidates will need to have excellent children’s trade selling experience, and a proven track record of dealing with the usual childrens’ sector customer base including some educational.

We welcome applicants at all levels, however, ideal candidates will already be running the children’s sales dept at a smaller publisher, or a deputy head at say a larger publisher.

The publisher is part of a leading and well established international publishing group with imprints covering a wide range of mass market subjects to the trade; including adult, childrens, fiction, non-fiction as well as illustrated books.

An excellent basic salary plus a good bonus is on offer (depending on the experience you'll bring), you’ll be based in London within reach of mainline and tube stations.

If this sounds of interest, the next step is to confidentially send your CV or career profile, if we don't have it (but please indicate your current salary) to register your possible interest in further details to -  Greg Evaristo -  greg@gregorymartin.org
