Sales Manager

Do you have experience of working in account management within a customer facing environment? An exciting opportunity has become available to join a leading publishing organisation who provide sales, marketing, and distribution services across global markets to academic and professional publishers. As Sales Manager, you will manage the relationships with in-territory sales representatives and additionally, you will line manage the in-house Sales Assistant. Candidates with previous experience of selling into European or Asia Pacific markets is desirable. This is a hybrid role, with three days a week in the office and two days working from home.

Responsibilities include:

  • Maintaining and developing effective relationships with key customer accounts.
  • Managing own calling schedule, to include virtual calls and face-to-face meetings
  • Presenting sales and market insights to both internal and external stakeholders
  • Liaising with colleagues to deliver multi-channel B2B marketing campaigns tailored to the book trade

We are looking for a candidate with proven experience of working in an account management role, within a B2B or customer-facing environment. The ability to independently organise your workload, manage priorities and meet deadlines are essential for this role.  Experience within book sales and the ability to develop new target leads are highly desirable attributes, along with excellent verbal and written communication skills. Strong MS Office skills are a must and proficiency in a second language would be an advantage. The company offers a generous salary and benefits package with this position.
