Sales Manager

Sales Manager | Academic | London. Our client is a respected social enterprise which puts people and mission first and profit second. This book publisher is partly owned by its staff and has a transparent, open and collaborative working environment. Reporting to the Managing Director, the Sales Manager will lead their sales efforts proactively and creatively with brilliant communication skills and the ability to think beyond the usual book industry channels. Passionate and optimistic, you will be the person who gets things done and takes responsibility. Process driven, you will be open to working with political and activist organisations and will have the ability to inspire your colleagues.
You will have good experience in the book industry and will want to be involved in all aspects of promoting the companies cutting-edge books and having your opinion heard where it matters!
This role will involve some international travel and line management of the Sales Assistant.

Key responsibilities include:
·Achieving sales targets across all territories
·Main liaison for reps, agents, stockists and key accounts
·Initiating and developing new business channels
·Monitor sales targets and budget
·Set and track sales costs budgets
·Setting and maintaining discount levels for titles and for accounts
·Initiating and closing bulk deals
·Working with the editorial and marketing teams
·Attendance and title selection for bookfairs and appropriate conferences
·Line management for the Sales Assistant
