Sales Manager

Our client, a prominent publisher of both print and online magazines, is currently seeking a passionate and results-oriented individual to join their well-established team. In the position of Sales Manager, you will play a crucial role in driving revenue growth for a leading name in the industry. Working under the direct supervision of the Sales and Marketing Director, you will be responsible for formulating and executing sales strategies, overseeing a dedicated sales team, and achieving revenue milestones for the designated publication.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with the Sales and Marketing Director to devise and execute comprehensive sales strategies.
  • Innovatively target new market prospects and segments to drive revenue expansion.
  • Lead and motivate a small group of sales representatives, fostering a culture of high performance.
  • Cultivate strong connections with key clients, partners, and stakeholders.
  • Secure new business through client meetings, presentations, and negotiations.
  • Enhance corporate subscription sales through new business initiatives.
  • Formulate and execute sponsorship strategies, engaging potential sponsors and closing deals.
  • Increase sales of corporate/group tickets for important events, awards ceremonies, and conferences.
  • Present periodic sales reports to the Sales and Marketing Director, detailing progress, challenges, and opportunities.
  • Foster a strong rapport with internal stakeholders, including marketing and editorial teams.

The ideal candidate for this position should have a proven track record of achieving revenue growth, exceeding sales targets, and effectively managing high-performing sales teams, preferably in the publishing industry. Experience in both B2B and consumer sales is highly beneficial.

The desired candidate should demonstrate strong team leadership skills, the ability to motivate a diverse group, and a solid understanding of media sales and billing procedures. This includes expertise in digital advertising, content monetisation, and sponsorship sales. Strong communication and interpersonal skills are essential, along with the capability to build and maintain productive relationships across all levels of an organisation.
