Sales Manager, UK Trade

An opportunity has arisen for a business minded and analytical UK Trade Sales Manager to join a world renowned academic publishing organisation! This role offers a competitive salary, and remote working (with 1 day per week to be spent in their centrally located London office).

Reporting to the Director of International Sales and Marketing, the main remit of the UK Trade Sales Manager will be to maximise the impact and sales of the organisation's prestigious trade books list in the UK market through all channels, liaising closely with marketing and publicity colleagues. The role includes overseeing a portfolio of assigned customers, developing new business from existing clients and actively seeking new sales opportunities. As the UK Trade Sales Manager you will also be responsible for stock management, sales reporting and sales analysis. Responsibilities include (amongst others):

  • Serve as the lead point of contact for all assigned customers
  • Build and maintain strong, long-lasting client relationships
  • Work to increase sales into existing clients and identify new business
  • Negotiate and close promotional agreements to maximise revenue generation
  • Maintain supply of accurate and timely title data to customers
  • Liaise with the UK distributor regarding customer orders & stock levels
  • Develop and supply accurate account sales data reporting as required
  • Collaborate with the wider sales, marketing & publicity teams

The ideal UK Trade Sales Manager will have proven experience in a sales, account management or business development environment either in publishing or a related sector, along with excellent customer service skills and the ability to nurture and maintain long lasting relationships. Along with high level Excel skills and an analytical approach, you will have stellar organisation and communication.
