The Science team at OUP publishes a wide range of successful and respected science courses for ages 11 to 18. These include print and digital student and teacher resources.

About the Role

We are seeking an enthusiastic and experienced Development Editor, with excellent communication and team working skills, to join the successful schools science team. 

Responsibilities include:

• Leading resources through the production process, from manuscript to finished product

• Working with authors and commissioning editors to develop and edit manuscript

• Proactive problem-solving to ensure that resources come out to schedule and within budget

• Liaising with colleagues, freelancers, authors and suppliers

• Monitoring spend against defined budgets

• Developing expertise in print and digital resource production for the schools market.

• Developing an understanding of the science curriculum in order to improve the quality and impact of our resources. 

About You

To be successful in this role you must:

• Have editorial project management experience working on multi-component projects

• Have previous editorial experience in the science and/or educational publishing sector • Have a good honours degree or equivalent, ideally in a scientific discipline.
