Scientific Editorial Assistant

A respected specialist medical journals publisher is looking for a Scientific Editorial Assistant to take on a hands on role within their team. This role offers an excellent training programme for technical editing and proofreading, and our client is looking for science graduates who are passionate about furthering medical research.

The team are based in London and offer a hybrid working arrangement - you'll typically need to be in the office a minimum of 2 days a week, with more attendance at busier times. The role responsibilities include:

  • Assisting with the technical editing and proofreading of manuscripts
  • Checking and revising proofs pre-publication
  • Monitoring the submission and peer review processes, and handling any problems
  • Social media promotion for the journal
  • Ad hoc admin and support tasks to assist the team

The ideal candidate for this position will be a Masters graduate in a biological or medical related sciences, but we will consider applicants from all fields of science at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels who are keen to get involved with the medical content.
