Senior Commissioning Editor

We have a great opportunity for a Senior Commissioning Editor to join the ELT department of a leading educational publisher based in Central London. Working closely with the Publisher, you will have input into the publishing strategy and responsibility for a number of high quality projects.

 

Key duties:

  • Identifying projects with a view to commissioning and developing high quality, profitable ELT content in print and digital format
  • Working closely with the Publisher/Publishing Director to research and identify publishing opportunities
  • Developing multicomponent course concepts along with the Commissioning Editors and Publisher
  • Identifying and commissioning appropriate contributors and initiating proposals on development possibilities
  • Overseeing and ensuring that the content development is according to project specification

Experience / skills required:

  • Established editorial experience in educational publishing, ideally ELT
  • A proven track record of successful ELT multicomponent product development
  • Strong, demonstrable knowledge of the ELT markets and segments
  • English language teaching experience and a formal qualification
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
