Senior Commissioning Editor

£36,000 – £38,000 per annum

We are seeking a talented, highly motivated Senior Commissioning Editor with experience of working within children’s publishing for a full time maternity cover position from January 2019, for a minimum of nine months.

Reporting to the Editorial Director, this role is an opportunity to commission and work on some market-leading fiction titles spanning middle grade to YA. The primary aim will be to take care of current authors and to steer a number of high profile books through to publication. There is also plenty of scope for commissioning new authors for the list.

You should have exceptional editorial skills, offer the highest level in author care, and have a keen understanding of the children’s fiction market. Significant experience of working as an editor is required, and proven commercial success in children’s fiction publishing is essential.
