Senior Commissioning Editor

A leading London based professional publisher is looking to recruit a part-time Senior Commissioning Editor working across their Tax and Accountancy list. This is a part-time role, working 3 days a week with some flexibility for blended office and home working.

This is a key role for the company, working on one of their most commercial lists. The job holder will have responsibility for continuing and expanding the existing list of titles, including books, digital products and backlist revisions. With an interest in the subject field, the Senior Commissioning Editor will ensure all titles are updated in line with the market, will actively keep up to date with researching the market, identifying market trends, developments and new channels for development. The successful candidate will be a sound negotiator, comfortable working with authors and partners to build relationships, and negotiate contracts.

The successful candidate will have a track record in commissioning, ideally within a professional publishing environment. Proven experience in meeting business goals for commissioned publications will be essential as well as expertise working across books and digital products.
