Senior Commissioning Editor or Editorial Director - Commercial Fiction

A prestigious independent London-based trade book publishing house has asked us exclusively to find a highly talented Senior Commissioning Editor or Editorial Director to join the team to drive the acquisitions of their Commercial Fiction imprint.

The company is well-established and has a great reputation for publishing best-selling, award-winning books.

You’ll be responsible for running an upmarket fledgling commercial fiction imprint hence this is a unique opportunity to make your mark and build a list at a successful non-corporate publishing house.

We’re looking for an inspirational, commercially-aware editor to commission new stories for UK & international marketplaces. Naturally, you’ll need to have good contacts with agents and a successful track record of commissioning commercial fiction.

The role could appeal to a commissioning editor at a relatively early stage of their acquisitions career or someone more experienced, and is potentially a full-time position, but our client would consider a part-time applicant or an Editor-at-Large role too.
