Are you a Children's Book Designer looking for a new challenge? We are delighted to be working exclusively for our client Magic Cat Publishing, an East London based indie Children's Publisher who is looking for a talented Designer to join their busy and creative team.
Magic Cat publish beautiful books across gift, novelty and non-fiction. This role is perfect for someone looking for their next opportunity in children's publishing design with a passion for children's books and illustration.
Key functions of this role include developing and working on design across the business i.e. creating and managing book layouts, pitching engaging cover designs, looking after sign-off/proof stages and organising print schedules for titles. You will also be liaising with and monitoring other internal contacts as well as freelancers. You will need to be highly creative and have a real visual flair, being able to clearly present your ideas to the team. Ideally you will have already worked with these types of books.
The ideal candidate will have a keen eye for design especially typography. You will have experience working in children's publishing and be aware of the different formats and wider market. It is highly important that you are fluent across the important publishing and design software packages such as InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator, Acrobat.
There is flexibility for this position to be part remote.
