Senior Development Editor, ELT

Our client, a top educational publisher and widely recognised brand, is looking for a Senior Development Editor to work in their global English Language Teaching (ELT) division. This attractive role offers hybrid working with the successful candidate spending from 2 days per month in the company's Hampshire office, based in Andover. The Senior Development Editor will play a pivotal role in the successful development of new ELT product proposals that support effective teaching and learning, and will work on all aspects of the development of multi-level, multi-component ELT programmes, in various formats. Key responsibilities include (amongst others):

• Edit content of course components at all stages of development
• Create, communicate, and monitor schedules
• Commission, brief and monitor quality of work of external contributors
• Track and report on project budgets
• Actively maintain knowledge of competitor product offer
• Plan, design and conduct market research virtually and in person
• Engage key Sales and Marketing stakeholders during development
• Help shape the go-to-market product strategy and anticipate customisation needs
• Contribute to the continuous improvement of editorial workflows and processes

The ideal candidate will have solid editorial / content / product experience gained within ELT textbook publishing and be comfortable working on ELT projects that span from early years to adult learning. With strong project management skills, you will be highly organised and able to work on multiple projects at one time, and have good content and copy-editing skills. You will have excellent communication skills and be a collaborative team player.
