Senior Editor/Managing Editor

Do you have superb editorial and project management skills, a passion for illustrated books and a strong visual eye? A lively and independent co-edition publisher in central London is looking for a Senior Editor/Managing Editor for their growing team. You will join a small, innovative, creative, hard-working and dedicated team to work across the illustrated list overseeing the scheduling, budgeting, workflow and publication delivery.

As Senior Editor/Managing Editor you will be a key part of the department and focus on project management, editorial workflow and commissioning and managing freelance teams and creatives. Other key responsibilities will include briefing text and design to editorial staff, negotiating fees for pictures where necessary, and overseeing processes. The ideal candidate will have a real passion for illustrated non-fiction books within the lifestyle, creative and mindfulness genres.

You must have proven project management experience in a book publishing and coedition environment working to budgets and organising photo shoots. You should have good communication skills with the ability to liaise effectively on all levels and enjoy using your initiative. The successful candidate will have great attention to detail, InDesign skills and be extremely organised in a very creative environment.
