Senior International Sales Executive

Thames & Hudson has an exciting opportunity for an experienced and versatile sales professional to join its International Sales Team, winner of this year’s British Book Award for Export.

For the right candidate, the Senior Sales Executive’s role offers a challenging combination of key-customer relationship management with specific account responsibilities, working across a diverse and high-grossing range of markets including Benelux, Africa, India, France and the German-speaking area.

The successful candidate will have the drive and ingenuity to take our international sales to new levels, as well as the strength of personality and dynamism to enthuse and energize some of our key partners.

The role

  • Managing the commercial relationships with Thames & Hudson’s exclusive sales and distribution agents in the Netherlands, South Africa and India
  • Responsibility for selected customers in Belgium, Germany-Austria-Switzerland and Africa
  • Overseeing a freelance Germany-based sales representative for the GAS area
  • Working with our distribution company in France, Interart
  • In partnership with our agents and customers, researching and developing new business opportunities within the stated territory, with the emphasis on non-traditional and online channels

Knowledge, Skills and Experience:

  • Successful track-record in international book publishing sales
  • Proven experience of new customer development and working with freelance representatives
  • Target-driven with a record of achieving revenue growth and exceeding budgets
  • Outstanding interpersonal and organizational skills
  • Time-management ability, attention to detail and a can-do attitude towards problem-solving
  • Adept with IT systems and data management
  • Language ability would be a definite asset in the role (French/German preferred)
  • Passionate about the visual arts and culture, as well as having an extensive knowledge of the international museum and gallery world
