We have an extremely interesting role, working for a highly regarded, global publisher in the Oxford area as a Senior Manager within the Research & Analytics department. This role will involve leading a variety of specialists, tasked with data provision and analytics, around sales; customers and regions; product and content (including bibliometrics); marketing and web, and primary research.
This is a key role in the team where you will make an impact and work with stakeholders across the company.
What does the role involve
- Managing specialists and developing strategy in the areas listed above
- Gather, interpret and augment analytical requirements from the business, anticipating future reporting needs
- Ensuring that time-tabled and one-off strategic analysis is delivered on time, in order to support benchmarking, sales and product developments and feed into strategic decision making within the business
- Ensuring the provision or targeted consultancy, training, knowledge management and short-cut tools to support the undertaking of smaller scale analysis by the wider business
- Present at society bids, editorial meetings and industry conferences
- Lead, performance manage, mentor and coach team members
What is the ideal experience required for this role
- Strong knowledge of academic publishing and the key data types that support analysis within academic publishing, especially around citations and bibliometrics
- Experience of leading a team, mentoring and coaching
- A proven record of delivering both quantitative and qualitative data which informs evidence-based decision making in the academic publishing industry
- High-level experience in gathering and interpreting business data requirements
- Experience making successful presentations to external audiences
