Senior Managing Editor

A leading educational publisher based in central London has an exciting opportunity for a Managing Editor to create and deliver high-quality teaching and learning products and services to schools, colleges and training organisations. The successful candidate will work across a range of vocational and practical subject areas. This role can be based in London or Oxford.

Key duties:

• Create and deliver products and services on time, to budget and meet high-quality standards
• Contribute to product design, ensuring products are fit for purpose and meeting customers’ needs
• Work with content creation tools, content management and workflow tools
• Keep up to date with market developments, trends and identify and retain key authors
• Ensure third party content is identified and all rights are cleared

Experience / skills required:

• Experience in an editorial/production editorial role within educational publishing
• Ability to identify customers’ needs and create products and services meeting their requirements
• Proven track record delivering print and digital products to budget and schedule
• Excellent communication skills and ability to build and maintain strong relationships
• Experience managing suppliers
