Senior Managing Editor | Trade | Oxfordshire. An established Trade publisher is looking to appoint a Senior Managing Editor to take responsibility for the delivery of all print and digital content within the publishing programme. The company publishes accessible titles within the adult and children’s sector, which reflect a Christian worldview to a general audience in addition to resources for Christian families and communities.

Working with your direct line reports you will manage all aspects of in-house and outsourced editorial tasks and will work with both commissioning editors and production colleagues to maintain the publishing plan. This position will chair editorial work in progress meetings and will participate in regular publishing meetings.

You will have excellent communication, presentation and interpersonal skills and will be able to make independent decisions with a strong sense of initiative. First class editing and proof reading experience will be important as will be your strong sense of ownership and accountability.  This is a leadership role for which you will have demonstrable experience in successfully leading teams and influencing colleagues.

Theologically aware, you will further be biblically literate and spiritually sensitive.

Due to the nature of the publications involved, this role has a Genuine Occupational Requirement to be a practising Christian.
