Senior Marketing Manager

Are you a creative marketer, with a background in marketing for academic books or journals? Are you looking to take a step up to a Senior Marketing Manager role? We have a fantastic opportunity with one of the world's leading independent academic publishers. This role is based in our clients Yorkshire office.

The Senior Marketing Manager will be responsible for the marketing activities of a prestigious and varied list of Business Management and Economics products, produced across print and digital. The main remit of the Senior Marketing Manager will be to drive authorship, submissions, usage and engagement for publications in this subject area and build on the company's existing position as publisher of choice. Alongside the strategic development, implementation and analysis of marketing activities for this subject area, specific tasks include:

  • Overall management of a team
  • Collating and implementing a marketing schedule and measuring the ROI on activity
  • Delivery to budget of a full mix of subject and community appropriate marketing tools, including webpages, digital marketing and emails
  • Develop and maintain market knowledge for the subject area including the research landscape, competitor analysis and industry trends
  • Provide regular feedback to other departments about the impact of marketing activity
  • Commission and develop supporting pieces such as white papers, infographics, speaker slots, public engagement

The successful Senior Marketing Manager will have experience in a marketing role ideally within the area of academic books or journals. Alongside excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to persuade and influence others, you will have insight-driven analytical decision making skills and a proven ability to develop marketing strategy, and a track record of demonstrating ROI from marketing activities across channels that make full use of the marketing mix. As a person you will have an agile mindset, be a strong team player, willing to experiment, and have the ability to listen and learn.
