Senior Policy Adviser

Our client, a prestigious scientific society based in central London, is seeking an experienced policy professional to join their supportive and collaborative policy team as Senior Policy Adviser where you will work across the company's education portfolio, including leading its programme on mathematics and computing education. This role offer an excellent salary and benefits, along with flexibility for hybrid working.

The main remit of the Senior Policy Adviser is to develop and lead the company's mathematics and computing education programmes of work. The Senior Policy Adviser will have a varied and pivotal role where they will have line management responsibility for a small number of direct reports and responsibilities will include:

  • Ensuring high quality secretariat provision
  • Developing and maintaining stakeholder subject discipline groups and networks with the expertise needed to inform policy activity
  • Steering the maths programme designed to help shape mathematical education
  • Taking forward a programme to support wider participation in mathematical subjects and computing in education

Other responsibilities include: policy advice, programme delivery, stakeholder management, governance and corporate responsibilities.

The successful Senior Policy Adviser will have worked on a variety of policy programmes at the national and/or international level and ideally possess experience in one or more areas of education policy.You will be a creative thinker and effective problem solver, and adept at networking, motivating colleagues, building interdisciplinary relationships, and working with committees.
