Senior Print Production Controller

We have a wonderful new role for an experienced print production professional to work for a leading publisher of collectible publications. This is an interesting and varied production role, where you will work as part of the print production team, taking responsibility for overseeing/managing a smooth supply chain on a variety of collections, Direct Marketing and E-Com collections. This includes magazines, books, marketing inserts, binders etc. This role will have a pivotal role in fully managing the process from start to finish.

Key responsibilities of the role will involve:

• Managing the supply chain from ‘file supply to printer’ to ‘delivery of finished product’.
• Working closely with Editorial and Marketing to ensure new orders/collections are produced to correct specification and schedule.
• Create/update budgets and manage costs
• Taking overall responsibility for the management of key print/finishing related issues
• Responsibility for finishing, including dummies for internal approval and logistical planning of delivery of components
• Setting up and chairing production meetings
• Visiting suppliers as required

To be considered for this exciting role you must have:

• Demonstrable and proven experience in print production (print buying and/or finishing/packaging, rather than pre-press) essential.
• Strong negotiation and numerical skills, and attention to detail
• Able to work in a busy, fast-paced environment
• Highly organised with the ability to communicate and work as part of a team, as well as independently.
• Strong PC skills, including MS Excel, Word and Outlook.
