Senior Product Developer - Subscriptions Publishing
A rapidly growing subscription publisher is looking to recruit a Senior Product Developer to lead the publishing team, ensuring targets are met and also to lead on publishing product development, to enable high quality market research. The Senior Product Developer will focus on the development and launch of new subscription products and will ensure that products are delivered to budget and to the highest quality, as well as working with marketing to ensure marketing opportunities are taken and sales targets are met.
Key responsibilities of the Senior Product Developer will include:
- Researching, developing, testing and launching new products in a range of media in both new and existing markets, in line with company objectives
- Ensure that new products and product types in existing and new markets are developed, tested and launched to budget
- Support the Managing Director to deliver company targets
- Strategic day to day leadership of the publishing team, ensuring turnover and profit targets are met
- Work with marketing and training teams to deliver or exceed turnover and profit targets
- Ensuring the production schedule is planned ahead and that products are delivered on time and within budget
- Champion product quality, ensuring that products meet customer requirements and offer benefit above cost.
- Work with marketing to develop creative ideas and ensure all marketing opportunities are taken
The successful person will have:
- An entrepreneurial ability to identify, research and quickly get to grips with trends and emerging problems in new markets
- The creativity to develop must-have product concepts
- Numerical ability to define problems, collect data, analyse and establish facts
- Leadership potential and demonstrable leadership skills
- Ability to plan and manage a budget
- Strong ability to negotiate with suppliers
- Excellent time management skills and able to tackle several projects simultaneously as well as organise a complex team workload by developing new processes and improving existing ones
