Senior Production Editor

A leading publisher of psychology journals, books, and psychometric assessments is looking for an experienced Production Editor to join their close-knit dynamic team. This role is based in their Oxford office.
 

Key duties:

  • Edit, check and project manage products from conception through to publication
  • Liaise with authors/developers and other relevant parties to prepare projects for production
  • Edit scripts, prepare product specifications, and oversee schedules and cost budgets
  • Prepare estimates of costs and revenues for projects in advance of publication
  • Draft and prepare publishing agreements and provide clear briefs for all products

Experience / skills required:

  • Production and project management experience in a publishing environment
  • Knowledge of end to end publishing process from contracts through to print and digital publication
  • Experience of contract drafting is essential
  • Excellent computer skills (Microsoft office skills essential, InDesign and XML skills are desirable)
  • Great attention to detail, a strong work ethic, plus willingness to learn
  • Knowledge of psychometrics / assessment tools would be advantageous
