Senior Production Editor

A leading publisher specialised in the luxury industry is looking for an experienced production editor to monitor two publications and manage a small team in south London. This is a unique opportunity for a confident candidate with strong communication and management skills who can work in a fast-paced environment and to high-quality standards.

Key duties:

• Oversee production editorial process for two magazines, as well as supplements and specials
• Manage two in-house sub-editors
• Ensure deadlines are met and high quality standards maintained
• Liaising with colleagues in different departments to ensure workflow is on schedule
• Write heads, sells, cover lines and captions to house style
• Work closely with commercial team, managing the delivery of advertorial content
• Control flatplans
• Write and edit features when necessary

Experience / skills required:

• Solid experience in a production editor or senior sub-editor role
• Experience working in the luxury publishing industry is essential
• Excellent attention to detail and expert knowledge of InDesign
• The ability to remain calm under pressure and to hit strict deadlines
• Strong organisation and communication skills
• Confident attitude with enough authority to deal with stakeholders at all levels
• Experience of working as part of a large team
• Self-motivated and ready to set high standards for oneself and others
