Do you have around five years plus experience as a publicity manager in book publishing and seek a new challenge? Then this minimum 12-month fixed term contract opening could be right for you.
A well-known children’s publisher has a rare opening for a Senior Publicity Manager to join a vibrant and busy publicity team looking after all publicity for their consumer children’s books imprints.
This varied and busy role will give you the opportunity to deputise for the Publicity Department Head as well as help manage your junior publicity colleagues, and you’ll also have a dotted line to marketing too.
As Senior Publicity Manager, you’ll look after a large stable of major children’s authors, proactively creating and managing all Press & PR and Publicity activity for their well-respected children’s lists.
Your role also involves dealing with the major film studios and TV companies, arranging interviews, pitching creative stories to media, looking after authors, so you’ll need bags of confidence and a willingness to get stuck in and be a great team player.
The publisher is looking for candidates with good media contacts within children’s books or children’s magazines sectors, but they will also consider candidates with knowledge outside of publishing, possibly coming from a background in childrens film/media/toy industries.
