Job Profile:
An exciting opportunity for a Senior Designer to join our fast-paced team on a 12-month fixed term basis. You will be a key part of the design team showcasing your talent and versatility. The role will take ownership of the design process from start to finish, creating the highest quality design work within agreed briefs, budgets and schedules.
The role offers a great opportunity to work across different genres – from crime and thrillers, women’s fiction and literary, to biography, current affairs, history and sport.
The Role:
Reporting to the Adult Art Director, this role would suit a well-established and proactive designer, with keen ambition to develop an author’s jackets; Take ownership of our major brands, with the credibility to challenge trends and whose contribution can ensure Simon and Schuster UK become market leaders in both the print and digital design arena.
The Candidate Profile:
We are looking for a Senior Designer to be central in the growth of the division. You will have excellent creative instincts and design skills to produce jackets of bestsellers and be established within the publishing; You will have a strong awareness of current trends, which is essential, as well as being innovative.
You will be working directly with editorial and sales teams, commissioning illustrators, photographers, and freelance designers, so good communication skills are key.
