Stock Controller

An opportunity of Stock Controller has arisen within the Education division of a world renowned publisher, based in central London. This pivotal role offers an excellent salary, benefits as well as long term career development. The company offer hybrid working (3:2) and the role can be based out of either their London or Oxford office.

As Stock Controller you will play a key role in the Operations team and work in conjunction with the distribution centre. The role oversees the stock management process, maintaining appropriate stock levels to meet demand yet minimising storage charges and overstocks, working collaboratively with publishers, sales, marketing and production teams. You'll take a proactive role, working with Production and Content teams to procure reprints cost-effectively. You'll use data to support and drive decision-making and optimise metadata to ensure the inventory management is of the highest quality.

The ideal Stock Controller will have an understanding of publishing workflows and systems, and have solid experience of Inventory / Stock management and/or sales analysis ideally in a publishing environment. You will be confident manipulating and summarising large data sets, and have top-notch report writing skills. Systems experience on publishing systems such as Biblio, and experience of using a data warehouse, such as Cognos / Extent would be highly advantageous. The Stock Controller will be commercially aware with good numerical and analytical skills, along side the ability to make decisions independently. It could suit someone working in a Sales Operations role or similar.
