Subscriptions Account Manager

Our client is a scientific institution who is now looking to hire a Subscriptions Account Manager to join their team; You will be responsible for proactively managing all the journal subscriptions as well as supporting the Global Subscriptions Director to administer and sell subscriptions to their online archive of over 200 further journals. This is a really unique role looking after two different products and we are looking for a really proactive, creative and successful sales person with experience in subscription sales within an academic or scientific journals publisher or institution ideally.

The role can be based remote, but there is also a desk available for you in their London institute. It is suggested that travel to the London office happen twice weekly once this becomes an option again. Flexibility will be needed for attendance at conferences and events around the world so there is opportunity to travel.

The journal and archive's subscribers are based globally and so global experience is sought after. Most importantly you will have strong experience in selling and renewing journal subscriptions to Institutions, Societies and individuals. This unique role will give you direct access to the Editors in Chief, and with the Editorial Board. You will present your progress and initiatives 3 to 4 times a year as well as communicating regularly to gain their academic insight into new initiatives and marketing campaigns. The successful candidate must be able to demonstrate strong communication skills and stakeholder management for stakeholder both internally and externally as described above.

An in-depth knowledge of MS Excel is a must as data and pivot tables are used on a regular basis. You should also be able to analyse data to identify trends in the data and usage reports and utilise this in your communications directly with your subscribers and through ongoing marketing efforts and initiatives. There is also a marketing aspect to this role, being responsible for social media marketing and utilising marketing activities when approaching subscribers to draw them in.

In return our client offers a highly competitive salary of up to £40k depending on experience, plus other benefits.
