Temp Editorial Assistant

Are you a Temporary Editorial Assistant available at short notice? Our client is a prestigious professional publishing house that is well known for having the highest editorial standards, based in west London.

Team temps would like to hear from an Editorial Assistant ideally from an STM or Academic back ground, to provide high quality editorial service for a range of products including handbooks and online products. The key responsibilities include: building effective relationship with internal and external customers; liaise with external copyeditors, proofreaders, typesetters, data conversion houses and printers to ensure timely publication and high quality of published products; plan and prioritise workload to ensure delivery to schedule and within budget; work with inputting data for XML conversion; responsible for carrying out post-conversion editorial work used within digital products; support other editorial team members by providing accurate and timely editing and/or proofreading service and reviewing & updating procedural documentation when required.

The successful candidate will have good proofreading skills and should have gained solid experience working in an editorial role. Ideally you will have some experience of editing legal or technical publications, working on in-house styles and content preparation for multi-channel publication. You will have excellent communication and organisational skills. Experience of working with Content Management Systems or Business Process Management will be an added advantage.
