An established Trade publisher is looking to appoint a Temporary Editorial Manager to take responsibility and supervise the delivery of a range of print and digital content within their publishing programme. This is a key role within the company reporting to the Managing Director. The company publishes accessible titles within the adult and children's sector, which reflect a Christian world view to a general audience in addition to resources for Christian families and communities.
The main responsibilities will be managing a team of four and all aspects of in-house and outsourced editorial tasks to ensure timely scheduling delivers according to agreed publication dates. Additionally, you will lead on continuous business improvement through adopting 'best practice' processes in editorial. You will have excellent communication, presentation and interpersonal skills and will be able to propose solutions to your colleagues. First class editing and proof reading experience will be important as will be your strong sense of ownership.
This role is ideal for someone with project management experience in illustrated books. You will enjoy and thrive managing, nurturing and motivating a team in a collaborative environment. Due to the nature of the publications involved, this role has a Genuine Occupational Requirement to be a practising Christian.
