Temp Head of Media (Children's Books)

A leading book published based in central London is looking for an interim Head of Media to lead an deliver media strategy for brands within their children’s portfolio. This is an interim role for 3-6 weeks with possible extensions while the publisher recruits for the role on a permanent basis.

 

Key duties:

  • Secure innovative, targeted and creative media coverage for brands/ authors across children’s book list
  • Create Media plans
  • Optimising cultural calendar opportunities and topical news to promote relevant children’s books titles
  • Development of innovative publicity tools that fully reflect the identity of the book/brand
  • Generate and foster review and feature coverage across all media
  • Management of journalist relationship and key children’s influencers
  • Coordination of regular media presentations
  • Present publicity strategy and campaigns to internal and external stakeholders including authors, agents and licensors

Experience / skills required:

  • Proven work experience working in a publicity department and/or PR company within consumer brands
  • Relationship established with media contact
  • Understanding of licensing industry and related publicity
  • Capable of creative and innovative  publicity campaigns
  • Experience within children’s publishing or children’s brands is desirable
