TEMP Production Controller

Calling all Production Temps - are you available immediately and for up to at least 3 months or more!

We are seeking a highly detail-oriented and creative Production Candidate to join our client's production team. Our client, who produces beautifully bound books, is looking for a candidate to ensure that all books within their area of responsibility are manufactured to the highest standards of quality and creativity, and are delivered on time and within budget, Including producing a share of new titles, reprints, re-issues, and ordering publicity dummies for all titles with the Studio Manager and Production Manager.

This role requires a blend of creativity and problem-solving skills to address challenges during product development. Regular communication with editors and typesetters is essential to ensure editorial schedules are maintained.

The successful candidate will accurately cost complex specifications and alert the Production Manager or Director immediately if costs exceed the agreed budget. They will work closely with the Studio Manager on final artwork before sending to repro, ensuring proofs match originals and achieving optimal repro and print quality.

In consultation with the Production Manager, they will negotiate and place work as economically as possible without compromising schedules or quality requirements. The role also involves ensuring the Biblio system is kept up to date, coordinating with the Production Manager over paper requirements. Additional responsibilities include issuing purchase orders, verifying delivered quantities against orders and advice notes, using Netsuite to check and pass invoices in a timely manner, and distributing advanced copies.
