The agency

Founded by Charlie Viney in 2008, The Viney Agency is a highly regarded independent London-based literary agency representing a broad range of prestigious authors.

The agency represents book and dramatic rights for ninety authors writing across a variety of
genres including adult and children's fiction, history, biography, smart-thinking and current affairs.

The agency sells directly to North America. Foreign language rights are handled by Intercontinental Literary Agency.

The job

Applicants should have a passion for literary agenting and an excellent working knowledge of publishing.

Candidates will ideally already represent clients.

The successful candidate will be intuitively adept at working with authors writing across genres and in proactively developing their own client list.

Innately collaborative and enthusiastic by nature, the successful applicant must also be a motivated and creative self-starter with excellent communication skills.

High levels of self-organisation and attention to detail are essential.

The successful and proven candidate will ultimately assume a central role at The Viney Agency.
