Transformative Agreement Specialist

We are working with an amazing global academic publisher based in Central London looking for a Transformative Agreement Specialist to sit within the EMEA Library Sales Operations team! This is a friendly, collaborative and diverse team and this role will support and enable their sales function to make it even more efficient and effective! This is a crucial and brand new role, created to ensure the business has what it needs to excel in selling OA products in the library market, and will work with a wide variety of internal teams and stakeholders including sales, operations, data and analytics and senior leadership.

  • Salary between £55,000 - £65,000 depending on experience

About you:

This is going to be someone who is confident in managing relationships with the bigger consortia. The ideal candidate will be happy to present to the senior leadership team and use their analytical brain to make strategic business decisions. This role will suit someone with solid negotiation and end-to-end stakeholder management experience, from pitching to implementation and finally to consistent check ins and feedback. You must have great communication skills and be prepared to work collaboratively with Sales and Operations teams both internal and global. You may also be expected to travel occasionally for key meetings. Experience in the academic OA space is advantageous.

Overview of the role:

The Transformative Agreement Specialist will work closely with the Head of Operations and Sales in order to manage, negotiate, and close transformative agreements that align with their revenue goals for their OA products.

The work will come in phases:

  • Evaluating requirements and data to see what it is that the customer wants to happen in the renewals process
  • Combining your analytical skills and strategic business judgement to negotiate with key stakeholders
  • Implement contracts and work through any issues or queries - using a key eye for detail in contract review
  • Relationship management throughout the lifetime of the agreement - responding to problems when they arise and providing data to answer questions
  • Identifying trends and providing feedback to the senior leadership team
  • In collaboration with the outreach team, present workshops, training, and seminars to educate libraries and researchers about transformative agreements.
